Session 68

Outline Recap

Morning

  • Purnima and several armed members of the Silver Sun arrive at Mukashram to escort Noza Oda to the Temple of the midday sun where Sankta Kunveno is being held.
    • The party follows them as far as the main part of the temple.
      • Unsure of what to do they spend a few minutes milling about.
  • An older man who is built like a Daricassan but looks like he might be from Haruka, appears. He is holding a small bowl like chime.
    • He rings the chime and while it is still resonating moves it around as if he is searching for something.
    • As he moves towards the members of the party the tone of the resonating chime changes.
      • He seems very pleased with this and spends a few moments moving around members of the party while ringing his chime.
    • When asked what the chime is and what he is doing the man introduces himself as Durijesh.
      • He says that he has been looking for the party and they should follow him.
  • Durijesh leads them to the doors that were guarded the day before.
    • The party follows him through and instantly finds themselves falling through utter blackness for what seems like several minutes.
      • Feng and Sehera roll with it.
        • Feng assuming that this would be an overly complicated to kill someone.
        • Sehera just figures there is nothing she can do to stop it and might as well enjoy the ride.
      • Indira levitates after a few seconds of falling.
      • Hasan freaks out but Indira manages to catch him by the leg as he sails past her.
        • She makes no attempt to right him during the rest of the way down.
      • Lyr makes excellent use of her helmet’s unlimited feather fall ability.
        • Through the darkness she can be heard alternately yelling “wheee!” and “feather fall”.
    • As the falling people get close to the ground they slow and land gently on their feet.
  • Once on solid ground they notice that there is a light coming from a doorway.
    • They head through the doorway and find Durijesh waiting on the other side.
    • He apologizes for giving them a fright, as he had forgotten what that fall was like for those who were not prepared for it.
  • Durijesh welcomes them to Adhirata and asks the party to follow him as the Rajat Neta is waiting.
  • He leads them down a hallway to a large room.
    • It appears to be a meeting room.
    • There is a large table and covering one wall is a map of the world.
      • Hovering above different points on the map are small balls of light.
  • Standing in the room is a tall figure covered from head to toe in brilliant silver armor that has been fashioned to look like a Rakshasa (Indian demon, not the kind in the Monster Manual).
    • The whole suit seems to be sealed.
      • The helm does not have no holes or slits for breathing.
      • The eyes are covered with red lenses.
  • Durijesh exclaims “I found them!” to the figure and excitedly demonstrates the chime’s reaction to the party members.
  • The party seems a bit bewildered by everything.
  • The figure removes it’s helmet to reveal a man with piercing red eyes.
**He formally introduces himself as Chandra Pavitra Prakash the Rajat Neta of the Silver Sun.
    • Everyone is shocked because Chandra Pavitra Prakash was the Rajat Neta that perished 100 years ago.
    • Once he starts talking they realize that in addition to red eyes he also has fangs.
  • He asks the party to take a seat as there is much to explain.

Chandara’s Story

  • Chandra is the same person who led the Silver Sun 100 years ago.
    • He died defending a temple and was buried outside of it.
      • This is the same temple that the party stopped at. The effigy marked his grave and the Silver Sun medallion that was woven in to it was his.
    • After he rose from the dead as a vampire he made his way back to Baikuntha.
      • Despite his hunger he refused to drink blood.
    • Chandra presented himself to the Order assuming that they would either kill or find a way to help him.
    • They sealed him up in a room at the top of the spire of the temple of the midday sun.
      • Chandra was imprisoned for 3 months.
      • He spent his time praying to Pelor, and found that even though the sun’s light did not touch him, it some how revitalized him and kept him from needing blood to survive.
    • After 3 months Chandra was released.
    • The Silver Sun presented him with the sealed armor.
      • In this suit, and through intense prayer he is able to photosynthesize sustenance from the Sun.
    • He was also allowed him to remain as Rajat Neta in secret while another person would act as the public face of the order.
      • His Undead nature, while technically a violation of The Samsara, allows him to better understand and track disturbances in the Samsara using his psychic powers.
  • Chandra sent Durijesh to find the party because he needed to confirm Sartaj’s story and if Sartaj was telling the truth then the Silver Sun would be in need of the party’s assistance.
    • Sartaj is then brought out.
      • He appears to be physically unhurt but is under the effects of something to make him tell the truth.
        • Which results in few amusing comments.
  • Chandra reveals that the chime Durijesh was ringing only reacts to people who have been to alternate Kafs or who have psychic abilities.
    • This and some of the details of Sartaj’s story have convinced him that the party might be able to help him or more specifically Maharani Shakti & Maharani Sharma otherwise known as the Ranjni Yami.
  • Durijesh unwraps an object that is very similar to the glass artifact that the party encountered.
    • It does not have any text on it or appear to be active.
    • This artifact was obtained by an informant that the Silver Sun was working with in the Ordo Clavis.
      • Jalal Ere
    • According to Jalal the artifact did not function.
      • He was wrong and it was unintentionally activated by the Silver Sun.
      • It was able to traverse Kafs but it only took souls/spirits with it and left a person’s body behind.
        • It also collected spirits/souls as it traveled through kafs.
  • When the artifact returned it brought the collected spirits/souls with it.
    • Most of them rejoined Samsara, but two remained.
    • The souls that remained were the children of Maharani Shakti & Maharani Sharma from another kaf.
      • The children of Maharani Shakti & Maharani Sharma in the present kaf, were deformed and had died at birth.
      • The children in the alternate kaf had not only lived but had grown to be terrible warlords.
    • Lacking bodies they are now trying to take over the bodies of Shakti and Sharma.
      • The twins have been resisting them but they have fallen into a coma and are growing weaker.
      • If action is not taken soon they will not survive.
  • By studying their glass artifact Silver Sun was able to create a device that could create a pocket dimension of the negative energy plane called Nakara.
    • The Rajni Yami’s collective subconscious has been brought there and can be interacted with and hopefully freed from the torments of their “children”.
    • The device can also transport people to and from Nakara but it only transports their spirits.
      • It works best with people who have psychic abilities or who have previously traveled to other kafs.
        • Which is why the Silver Sun sought out the party.
  • The party mentions that the Rajni Yami’s children have not been the only spirits hanging around.
    • They recount their encounters with the mysterious young man who according to Indira and Sehera bears a resemblance to Chandra.
      • Chandra seems to stare at nothing for a moment.
      • He then confirms that he can see the man and as far as he can tell it is him from another kaf.
        • He can tell that life had not been kind to his other self but he does not know why he is haunting the party or what he wants. However he does not seem to have malicious intent.
  • Along with Sartaj the party agrees to help.
    • They will be taken to the Rajni Yami’s chambers in the royal palace.
      • In order to not raise suspicions agents of the Silver Sun will shadow walk them there.
      • While traveling through the shadows Indira sees Basouk. He calls out her name and she responds with “i’m still mad at you”.
        • But by the time she gets the words out everyone has arrived at their destination.
          • Indira does not explain.
  • In the middle of the Rajni Yami’s chambers is the device that is connected to several small bowls of water.
    • Everyone who is traveling to Nakara is instructed to place their fingers in the bowls at the same time.
    • The device activates and the party is pulled into Nakara.
